Nick:

It's time to get fucking authentic Well, good morning and here we are Nancy. at Niagara Falls New York. Good morning. Oh my god. So yeah, we we left you guys off yesterday, yesterday. Really awesome week.

Unknown:

We don't even know what day it is right now. I'm

Nick:

so involved in this fucking road trip that I don't even really honestly, I can't even remember what day it was until right now I just say. So it is Thursday. Yeah. Yeah. So we're recording this Thursday, actually. So what we're really supposed to have our, our episodes to our producer within at least seven days so that he can do and we've dropped the ball a little bit because we were in the Adirondacks. That's where we left everyone. That's where we left everyone last time. And we had basically no service. Yes, correct. So in the background, if you guys I'm sorry, if you guys hear like this rush of water. We are literally about 100 feet now. I'd say a little bit more from Niagara Falls here on the New York side. Yes. So beautiful. Pardon our beautiful outdoor noises or the

Nancy:

beautiful outdoor noise all by herself, which is kind of nice.

Nick:

Yeah, we are in Adirondack National Park. I have Oh, geez. Niagara Falls National Park. Mountain is still in the mountains Jesus, man. But holy shit. the Adirondacks. That was

Nancy:

crazy. Colors, the peacefulness. They just everything.

Nick:

Yeah, it was amazing. Because for for a few years for Well, we've been married 34 Yeah, I was gonna say I just wanted to make an East Coast sort of trip. Fall trip. Fall trip because? Well, to the east. Yes. Yeah. We've done the West. We've traveled all out. We've seen Callaway been everywhere. Yeah, we've been everywhere. And actually, we haven't. And that's the whole point of this. So true. We got to the Adirondacks, you guys, literally we're driving. So first of all, we're going to give you a little bit of a review and an overview of our trip. We're coming through Indiana, and I had planned this grand fucking road trip where we're going to stop at these coffee shops like we do. And we want to sort of start doing a lot of that where we stop on our trips. We share a bunch of that shit with you guys. But we were gonna stop at coffee could like coffee shops, we always stopped the coffee shop, we drink 10 cups of coffee a day. But dude, Indiana sucks.

Unknown:

It was a little disappointing.

Nick:

It was like these fucking Tim Hortons and all this.

Nancy:

I mean, when you really need a cup of coffee, Tim Hortons is not.

Nick:

I'm not putting Tim Hortons down. I'm just saying that. We'd like the local mom and pop shops, right? We want 100%? Definitely. We've been small business owners. We are small business owners now even with a few things, but I'm just saying that we love supporting local small businesses, especially along the road. Yes, dude, what a shitshow.

Unknown:

That was, that was interesting.

Nick:

This is why that we want people to also really get involved with us with this is to say, man, there's this really cool coffee shop here, this really cool spot here that you guys would enjoy whether it's for anything anything outdoorsy adventure. With that being said, Indiana sucked.

Unknown:

Then we entered Ohio, Ohio,

Nick:

Ohio, and it was a bit better. But the funny thing about Ohio is so so I said along the road, what we're going to do is we're going to stop Nancy loves covered bridges gaps. She loves covered bridges. And so

Nancy:

it's a little different, because normally are covered bridges like the ones we've seen in Indiana, or

Nick:

you're getting ahead of yourself, girl,

Unknown:

am I yeah, I think so covered

Nancy:

bridges anyway. Normally, we can't drive through them. So

Nick:

I think well, we didn't know any of that. No, we didn't know we So again, my grandel scheme of planning this planning this out.

Nancy:

Whichever one has to understand we normally don't plan things out. This is very different. We normally like just go and it's like, maybe tired. You want to stop here. You want to see if there's someplace around here where we could lay our heads. Hey. Crazy. So this was a little different for us.

Nick:

Well, it's funny because it is different. You kept saying you know, let's just plan a Let's Play and I'm like Are you know what? Absolutely. Let's plan it. Let's not run off the seat of our pants here because if it was up to me, we just stop at this hotel. Fuckit spend the night whatever but we planned it. We planned it down from the first night where we spent the night yeah, the Airbnbs for the next the whole week.

Unknown:

Yeah, well. Yes until today

Nick:

until today. Now we don't know what to do. Right. asleep on the side of the road. We were going into these covered bridges in there, I saw four of them on the map, because if you pull up on the map, I was like, Wow,

Nancy:

90 That was the whole thing you were trying to go 90, right? Like what was close by so we don't throw because we don't like to veer off, you know, 2030 minutes off the expressway. So yeah, you did really close ones.

Nick:

Well, let me say you also remember, we stayed on the highway this generally we do take back roads. This is true. This is a further trip to take back roads. So it would have taken us fucking three weeks to get to the

Unknown:

way you drive. Babe, I don't know who you're talking to. I think everyone knows the way you drive. But yeah, so it'll take three weeks what

Nick:

but we again, we were driving down and we see these, I had figured out these four covered bridges. If you guys I don't know if any of you have ever been to Ashtabula County in Ohio, it seems boring as fuck. But let me tell you, man, it's a beautiful place it it's, it's unbelievable. And what we didn't realize is as we go to the first covered bridge, which happens to be one of the longest covered bridges, and I'm sorry, I should have all this information on hand to even say this right now. But we don't. So on the next episode, we'll start running through some things so cuz because people are gonna say, well, you're going to tell us about all the these beautiful places in what you see but Ashtabula County is a big fucking County. It is it is. But anyway, we get to this first covered bridge. It's literally the longest spanning covered bridge I think it said in the United States, right? So when Nancy was saying is we we go to like Park County and we go into Brown County in Indiana, and they have covered bridge festival, whatever. That's all we've ever seen of any kind of concentrated covered bridges, which is absolutely beautiful, but some of them a lot of them you can't drive over. Right? You literally Park off to the side right you walk in there beautiful. Every fucking covered bridge. We went to the four you can drive across, which was amazing. Yeah, it was number one, but what we didn't realize is that there's 17

Unknown:

in this how do you say it again?

Nick:

County 17 covered bridges, which to us is just absolutely insane. Like this is like the Holy Grail of covered bridges for Nancy at least Yes.

Nancy:

But not only that, we did for you know there was Owens there was there was a different set we

Nick:

have to say Olins covered bridge. We that's a story in of itself. Right. So Olins covered bridge. We get down here. Beautiful. Absolutely. I mean, just the scenery. It's in the fall, right. So now of course the colors are there. The colors have changed the creek or the river that's running underneath that thing is crystal fucking clear. The scenery is beautiful. We get out we're sort of hiking Ireson ally ourselves. We're sort of thing. All of a sudden, seriously, you guys. This is road trip and right. Nancy sees this guy. Okay, wait.

Nancy:

Well, so he went to his mailbox or so I thought he was going to his mail bag. Well, that was his house. Who knows? Then all of a sudden the show.

Nick:

Wait a minute, you This chick is fucking freaked out of everything. She sees this guy like, okay, come on, guys. We didn't know how old he was at the time. Right? We know now. But here's this guy walking up. He looks at least bat. At least he weighs no more than a toothpick. And he's walking up very slowly. He's not come on there was at

Unknown:

his MO who knows? stuff? I don't know. But

Nick:

the funny thing about it is this dude is walking up. He has these really baggy pants. He has on this baggy, pink sweatshirt. A little stuffy dirt. You know, he was a mountain man. There's no doubt about

Unknown:

it. He, man, that's my question. You don't I'm saying?

Nick:

This knit hat. He comes walking. Fucking sweetest guy in the world. He

Unknown:

wasn't even cold out. Here's the freaking out.

Nick:

Here's what Nancy says. Oh, here we go. Like, oh, here we go. Like what the fuck are you talking about? Let's just say we don't travel without some sort of defensive mechanism with

Unknown:

with time you always have your bear spray.

Nick:

Right? I do, actually. But so anyway, guy walks up introduces himself that doesn't say who he is. Now. We're just like, hey, so how you doing blah, blah. Anyway, make a long story short. The bridge that we're at has been there since 1826, I think or something like that. Come to find out his grandfather helped build the bridge. So like grandfather fucking 1800 Whatever. I'm like, So how old are you? The guy is 92 years old. His name's Barry Olin. They're just named under his grandfather's name basically is right. He lives right there. Beautiful setting.

Unknown:

I guess that was his real mailbox.

Nick:

It was his mailbox. The guy's never been married. What did he say? Was his real He's so funny. What did he says reason for not kidding.

Unknown:

He was in love with two women at the same time, same time.

Nick:

They knew we were very bold or somebody still looking for with rich white. So I says, Well, you, you know you ever gonna get married or whatever? And he says, Well, if I find me a rich wife, he's he was absolutely fucking hilarious. The guy was nice. He literally took us on a tour under the bridge, like, what's your calling? And I freaked out? Of course, right? Because now he's leading us down a path. This is why though, we want to do our podcasts live videos, because, literally, I have clips and pictures of us meeting this guy. I have video of us actually walking down with him. He was really generous and kind enough to give us a little bit of a history of the bridge. He wound up taking pictures with us. He was really a cool, pretty cool old cat. But those are the things we love. Well, I love Nancy gets freaked out. And then it's cool to talk about it after

Unknown:

Yeah, afterwards, because we're still alive. I love that.

Nick:

This is what's freaky about this whole fucking thing. Right? So we do the covered bridges. We do another one where we stop off at this Amish chocolate place. Oh yeah. Which was in the middle of fucking nowhere, which was just awesome. We ate those fucking peanut butter bars for like five days. Oh, let's camp out of bars are really good. So we're driving away from that place to our next bridge. We get to the bridge. It's beautiful. Absolutely. Again, beautiful taking pictures. I gotta pee. So I go off the side. And Nancy's like, hey, a car just pulled up. So I'm sitting there and I'm like peeing, and I'm like, I wear that she's like, they're still up here taking pictures. Obviously get done. Zip up my pants. We come back up from the bridge and we're walking up and there's these two people this couple older couple. And everybody's really cool. Really nice. Hey, how you doing? Bridge blah, blah, blah. And the guy says what does he say?

Nancy:

Hey, I don't know if you guys have been to the old ones bridge, but there's this old man there.

Nick:

It starts telling us the history. I'm like, Oh my God. This fucking guy is like a tour guide for the Olins bridge,

Unknown:

but he didn't know his name so didn't know but of course, but I'm just saying like, holy shit.

Nick:

How in the fucking world are we driving another 10 miles to this bridge? And we see someone who just came from fucking bury it. I was laughing my ass off. But anyway, cool people we laugh we say yeah, blah, blah, blah. So we get on our way. And we wind up driving out to Erie, Pennsylvania. Yes. And that's where we that was our first night. We stayed in Erie, Pennsylvania. We just stayed at a hotel there. Yeah. I don't know if anybody's ever stayed at the cobblestone suites. Or okay, it was it. No, it was no frills when we're just traveling. And we're just overnight we don't really look for no frills play you know we don't really look for places that are like I don't know fucking place to put your head right.

Unknown:

Yeah, we just want to sleep. Well, you've been driving she

Nick:

wants to comfort but we were driving and we were doing our thing. So anyway, we stay in Erie, Pennsylvania. What do you think of Erie

Nancy:

area was okay. Yeah, just that area. Remember, we were looking at a restaurant and we thought we found a restaurant and Nancy was a little skittish again. Yeah, you were kind of around the about but we wound up finding that next place that really good fresh Yeah, Mexican fresh salsa fresh tortilla. I

Nick:

have to say I'm gonna put a little thing out here about Google and maps and driving and all that kind of shit. Yeah, dude, Google lies fucking Google's a liar. Fuck yeah. Why do you say well you know it like it'll say something's open or it'll say oh yeah, no, there places are closed up or we were in Lake Placid and we were looking for the coffee shop and the fucking place that they were open at whatever we get there and there they don't open for the next day or so. Yeah, it was hilarious. So it's close that the hours were completely different on the window than anyway

Nancy:

and I have to say people take some really good pictures of their but that's what I'm saying establishment because it's nothing

Nick:

Google's a fucking it's okay, but it's really not

Nancy:

it's people that put the input the information so it's not Google everyone else that's

Nick:

gonna tell you what people saw. Or you know what, like, people need to update their shit. Like if they own the business if you want business like people like us to work common to

Nancy:

you. Yeah, like, like anybody knows any other way to look at stuff with real information besides Google please let us know because that is one thing unless I call and sometimes you don't have phone service. You don't know what the area Yeah, you don't know if the area is open or not. But anyway,

Nick:

so we go and we eat this. I gotta get these names. It was it was it was a call was a really Mad Max. Yeah, Mad Max. He was mad max in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dude, let me tell you some. I get in this place and I'm like, This is gonna be a piece of shit. But you know what, and the reason why I say that is because like, we're in the Chicago, Illinois area and we have some really good fucking Mexican food, right? So when you go to like a corporate type store, which we don't like doing, but it happened to be the only fucking thing it was a Friday. Well, yeah, it's a bigger. No, I

Unknown:

think it was a family owned it I say

Nick:

corporate because it's a big it was a big place. Yes, we go in there and you ordered the tortilla soup because we split a lot, but you order the tortilla soup because you're always down for a good tortilla soup. And I order the steak. It's like a steak bowl. Because I'm trying to watch my carbs. You know your card, man. So we order the steak bowl. And we both ordered the corn. Oh the Lord. Dude, this fucking corn. I've never tasted shit like that before that she was so chipotle sauce

Nancy:

or something that they put and I'm not a big Chipotle person. But that was really good.

Nick:

Seriously, we hungry right now. I'm telling you. I want to go have breakfast. Right now we are in Niagara Falls and it's about what 830 Okay, it's pretty quiet. No, it's pretty awesome. Outdoors, of course. But anyway, keep it on with shit that so the bowl was good. The fucking meat was good. That place called Madmax in Erie, Pennsylvania. Salsa. Yeah, that shit was homemade with their own homemade shit. Yeah, that place

Unknown:

was good. But going back to Eric Madmax. He

Nick:

went back to Erie fly in. Did it real quick and then go home. So we wind up getting done in Erie, Pennsylvania. Cool. Stop off. It wasn't we didn't do anything major. But it was a cool stop off. And we head up into the Adirondacks.

Nancy:

First stop is in inlet, inland New York. Okay. Well dry. There. Yes, go ahead. I have to say the colors weren't changing. All green. And we were like God, with this new experience now no colors. It's okay. We got this.

Nick:

It's still supposed to be beautiful. All the reviews. We've read everybody, whatever. But we're going there to see the fucking color. So we're driving, we're driving. We're like, man, if this is the way it is, but you know what? Let's enjoy the time. Yes. Let's enjoy the moment. And we're driving and we're just enjoying the moment we're talking and we're laughing and we're cruising. And it was the weirdest thing. When we got to Adirondack Park. It was almost like nature opened their fucking doors to us. And

Nancy:

welcome does with dude, orange and reds and fucking yellows. And

Nick:

it was I don't even again, this is why we need to start doing the videos so that we can share this with people. But let me tell you guys, I've personally I'll tell you about me first. Since I'm talking and I always talk so much. Probably too much. Sometimes. The colors were unbelievable. There were so many different shades of red, and orange and yellow. And all burns and browns in maroons in the greens from the pines. Yeah, that was that are just plain looking in between all these It was absolutely fucking incredible. Nothing ever like I've ever seen in my life. Well,

Nancy:

I didn't realize you had said that. That was one of the biggest places where there was a variety of trees or something like

Nick:

a huge variety of trees in between the pines and the maples, oaks and the like. It was absolutely insane. The Adirondack Mountains in the fall 100% did not fucking let us down. No, not at all. And I know that you go at different times of the year and you may not see what we say. But I will tell

Nancy:

you right pictures are real that I see. The pictures are real. Yeah, it's crazy. It's just beautiful. It's absolutely

Nick:

insane. Yeah, we are stoked. I'm like driving pretty much what a hard on the whole time

Unknown:

Oh, okay. Well I don't know that guys all right. Well, yeah, you you knew oh yeah my TMI that safety on my team.

Nick:

Too much and Oh, again, anyway, we're literally driving through this and we're just I'm telling you guys that around every fucking corner seriously. Yeah, there's a different picture. It was a pretty spiritual fucking moment. I think my whole body calm down. It almost felt like we're here like, like, this is what we act the expectation of what it was I was absolutely mad. And I'll be honest with expectations like this is some of the shit we learned. Right? We feel that our expectations are too much for things we feel that we're we've consistently obviously but let down from our expectation that people letting us down right but what we expect something to be and I'll tell you what, this was one thing that I wanted, so bad for you. Because this one is something that we've talked about for years of doing. And I love to see it. I experienced it. And I feel selfish saying that. But I wanted this to be an and I'll tell you what, when we got to the tops of some of those hikes, I got to those Summit. And you, it's like your whole body just went limp. Like, you were so happy. And it was in your body, your whole face everything, just like any kind of stress or, like lit I get literally see it just leaving your body it was. And let me tell you, you guys just so you know, we're not in the best shape of our lives. And we're trying to do that with what we're doing now. We haven't lived the healthiest fucking lives. Now we're trying to do the best we can right now with what we have. And we are doing it. That's partly how we got to the top of these fucking peaks in the summits that we claimed. That takes everybody else 45 minutes, but takes us fucking an hour and a half. But the bottom line is to see it in the hands. I'll just say it because you're you know, first of all, we're dealing with your knees aren't that great? Your confidence of walking up or down these hills? Isn't that great? Because your balance is shot. Let's say it like it is right. Then for me to go up to these hills in these mountains in the summit's isn't of itself a feat not because I physically can't do it. But because my mind blocks me, just because I'm not always living in the moment, right? I'm always thinking, Okay, I have to have all the right gear in my backpack I have to have, what if this happens, okay, I'm climbing up the hill. Now if this happens, we need to be able to do this. How do I have signal if I have to call for help? How many people are going to be on? Its if mine is always consistently going. And these are things that I'm learning that I'm so fucked up. When it comes to being in control and trying to think of the best scenario possible. And I know I'm getting off on a little tangent, the best scenario is right there in front of you, right. It's just taken the moment Yeah, and I will tell you guys that one thing I've learned. God damn, if you don't take in the moment right, then it's going to fucking pass you by.

Nancy:

Well, the nice thing I have to say the nice thing as you're driving through the mountains, there's all these different heights and steps that you can do. Hundreds The nice thing about the first one we did I forget how many whatever it was like

Nick:

an elevation of 500. It wasn't huge. No, but Rocky Mountain some

Nancy:

very steep all rocky like this is true, true hiking, not you know, your little paved areas, you're making your areas around as you go. But you have no choice. I mean, you have a choice of whether you want to go up or not. But if you want to see what the end is and see ran everything you have to go so you don't have time to be thinking about anything else. My thing was getting up there. So I mean, you I was on my hands. And I mean, I'm like going out there like

Nick:

literally when we got to the summit of Lookout Mountain dude, that last 50 feet, you're crawling. Oh yeah, there's nothing you got to crawl up the rock. It's sheer rock like you you literally have to crawl up and put your feet and you did it. And we're literally crawling like a fucking monkey. Like it was hilarious dude, like she said to me this time and I think it's fucking awesome. She's like, No, let me let me do this. Because of course I'm thinking okay, if she hurts her knee if she did like, that's where my mind unfortunately even going up to the top of the summit. But obviously once we got up there, it was amazing. It was just unbelievable. Like

Unknown:

the treat so you could see all these

Nick:

different colors and the the you're on top of the world and for miles and miles and miles literally for miles. You see nothing but color color. That's it. It's so fucking stunning you guys and that's

Unknown:

why I say the wires and you know all that whole journey no interference once

Nick:

you get to the top you guys you got to just keep fucking climbing and that's part of what our whole theme is here with this is to share these things with you but always the lessons that we're also learning the fun about it and what it is but the lessons that we're learning and this is just like the leaves right we've had a bunch of people that were on our Facebook page that were like, the color at peak or where's it at bla bla bla and and even from all the locals they were just saying like look, this is the probably one of the last weekend's shits gonna start to get real in leaves. They're going to start to fall.

Nancy:

Don't you remember? Like we're walking that one that was like, supposedly two miles and it took us like six miles and the leaves were literally already falling on the ground. It's pretty simple. Yeah,

Nick:

but those leaves are gonna fall off. And we'll never see what we saw again. And what I mean by that is, yeah, we may go back and see what we experienced right at that moment. Yeah, we'll never experience again. And it's like, you've got to go through what you're going through, get to the fucking top and see the fucking beauty in any lesson or whatever. It was hard. Don't get me wrong. Yeah, out of breath, and you got to stop and it's hard and you're literally getting muddy and climbing and crawling your way up to the top. But yet when we you got up there, it didn't fucking matter.

Unknown:

No, I just lay down that

Nick:

she literally laid on the fucking top right at the edge and I'm like, Oh my god. Okay, so she falls down the fucking dude, just seriously, so fucked up. And I'll tell you, I need help. I need help. If there's anybody who ever listens to this that can sort of help me I would appreciate it but I definitely need help. Because I'm always on that fucking roller coaster. It was awesome. I don't know what do you think we're good to go? Go on to the next one, which was so we did the Adirondacks and we stayed in inland Yeah, we did rocky mountain summit and we did this walk that was supposed to be around cascade Lake. That was supposed to be like a two and a half mile thing that some waterfall wound up taking us. Six fucking miles. Almost. It's over seven miles that day. And the funny thing was literally Nancy, towards the end, the last mile and a half or so. She's literally dragging her fucking feet. I couldn't do it anymore. Now you got to do it. Because I I just I'm so tired.

Nancy:

Like so exhausted. Like she was robbing I was just like,

Nick:

I'm like, come on next week. She's like, What the fuck am I doing? That don't get me wrong. It was a long walk. It was fucked up. Don't Don't even get me wrong about that. But oh my god she is fucking exaggerates like insane into and then she just gets pissed. You don't want to be around her. She gets all fucking nasty. I'm trying to like perk her up. And I'm like, Come on, let like we only have and she's like, exhausted. Like, I'm like Jesus Christ and just

Unknown:

exhausted dude. But then we got to the car and we went on.

Nick:

So then I'm like, when we get to the car, sit down on the back. And just sort of stretch whatever she got into the seat. She's like, I just want to sit here and give me water. Give me water like as like what the fuck? Like, like I'm a fucking water boy. And just Jesus Christ. You are want to do everything yourself. Climb a big mountain, but you're so fucking Jesus, man. Anyways, so we wind up getting back. We wind up getting back. That was our last day. inland, inland and old forge just by the way, have these this coffee shop?

Nancy:

Line coffee. Shout out to that.

Nick:

You guys, because I'll tell you what, that fucking place was awesome. Yeah. The servers behind the fucking counters. The fucking the place itself? Do they teach their people right above? We're, we're down on a lot of customer services. But this one was just fucking pretty good. Coffee was good. The atmosphere was cool. So you guys in the Adirondacks, if you're an old Forge, or inlet, check out blue line coffee because that place was awesome. And then after that we went up to so then we get up in the morning and we travel up. We're traveling up to Wilmington, New York, right outside Lake Placid.

Nancy:

Sit in another Airbnb there.

Nick:

We're staying at another Airbnb. Unfortunately, with this one, luxury, you got to remember that there's two of us and there's not many really small places specific to where we want to go. This was like a three bedroom home that sleeps 10 people we usually stay these big as home. There's just two of us. Well, what we look for is a king size bed. That's the bad thing. Yeah, that's the key. It's not so much the size of the thing if it has a king size bed because we're used to sleeping in. And oh my god, dude, that was the day that we just drive up and we're taking our time. Nancy wakes up the next morning from the day before his fucking retired. I have to say that I'm a bit exhausted from the day before. There was no doubt about it. So we're like, we're just gonna drive and see the different places. So anyway, we wind up in Lake Placid.

Unknown:

Yes.

Nick:

I didn't really. I mean, I knew what Lake Placid was, but I didn't realize that they literally had for the Olympics like they train there and do I was it 1982 Or what was whatever the Olympics were in Lake Placid. Cool little town. Yeah. Your typical ski town maybe? Yeah. Because, you know, there was a lot of snow. They

Nancy:

remind me of Vail, Colorado. Like it was very. Yeah.

Nick:

Sort of ski ish like that. Yeah, yeah. But I will tell you back to the food

Unknown:

starving,

Nick:

dude, we're driving all day. We get walking down. And it's so weird because like usually when you see a restaurant you see a steakhouse. Are you see a Mexican place where you see? Well as you're walking down the street and failed, they have a couple different restaurants. First of all, they don't look like anything special. No, not at all. I wanted to steak. I'm like, I want to fucking steak. I want a food. You want to food. I wanted to steak. You wanted food. We're passing by these different places. And you look at the menu in the window and it's got like, pizza, and steaks, and pasta, and I'm like a duck and like, what? And fucking chicken nuggets. I'm like, how are they doing anything good at this place. Like it's all over. But I realized that they're also doing it because there's kids and they're trying to guess, the family. Anyway, we stop this one place called Jimmy's 21.

Unknown:

Shout out to Jimmy's 21

Nick:

Shout out to Jimmy's 21 Let me tell you, we walked in this place and we actually walked in and then we're like, add let's leave because the guy seemed like an asshole. Yeah, little he did. He seemed like this little but the police seem cool. And they had outdoor seating that guy on Lake Placid. So you know what, let's just walk back in and get his table. Let me tell you guys, just like the fucking doors opened up to heaven. In the Adirondacks with the color. The culinary fucking Gods opened up their doors and sent the steak straight down the tube to my table. No, let me tell you, dude, I got the New York strip steak. Medium with asparagus in the mashed potatoes. they top it with this. This sort of I don't know what they call she just literally smacked me in the fucking back of the head. Because I had a mosquito. So if you guys heard a thunk is because she literally almost,

Unknown:

you know, throat punch to Oh my god.

Nick:

Anyway. Thank you guys. was fucking unbelievable. And that's all I can say. If you're in Lake Placid stop at Jimmy's 21 and get chicken strip steak with the crispy onions on top and mushrooms with the mashed potatoes and asparagus. For me, by the way. Next night. We went there again. It was that fucking good. And I got the same fucking steak. The guy even said, oh, yeah, so you want the 12 ounce steak done the ribeye style blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. He goes, I remember you guys.

Unknown:

But that appetizer was good. The burrata. Ah, that was good.

Nick:

It was like a creamy fucking mozzarella with some greens. With what are those tomato, sun dried tomatoes with the vinegar with vinaigrette like balsamic vinegar.

Unknown:

I think we're hungry. But we

Nick:

say we're going to talk about these places. And that place was fucking Excellent. So the whole idea behind this trip you guys was we experienced something completely different. But I have to say, once the doors of heaven opened up to the colors in the Adirondack Mountains. I literally just was so grateful. And became in the moment. I personally will remember the moment but not keep it like necessarily. It's gone. It's gone already. And I'm happy to have had it and I'm happy to have experienced it. But for me, I'm just looking forward to the next thing.

Nancy:

Well, yeah, I mean, it's a try two different things. I mean, then we went up to the mountain. What was that called

Nick:

to Whiteface Mountain, which again, me, the fucking navigator thought that on our way back out of the Adirondacks, we were gonna go up through Whiteface mountain and come back down into the side towards Canada. We wind up saying, Yeah, let's just go check out Whiteface mountain today. We'll go back up. Oh my god, you guys. We get to the fucking entrance of Whiteface mountain. They have to understand Whiteface Mountain is 5000 I think close to 5000 feet is is at its peak. Not very large compared to peaks in Colorado. But for what it is the colors and the colors again, unbelievable. So you have to pay a toll and it's complete straight uphill. 5000 feet, you're driving uphill. Five miles straight uphill. 5000 feet, no stopping. You have people behind you. I mean, you have all these lookouts that you can pull out there's lookouts. Yeah. Remember, I'm not a huge person on heights. I don't necessarily like

Unknown:

it. No, no, no, you do not.

Nick:

I have to say that going up the mountain was a bit fidgety but peaceful at the same time.

Unknown:

Like you were going up the sky.

Nick:

It was incredible. It was and we get to the top of this fucking mountain and it ends you can't go through.

Unknown:

Holy for you looking at a map was I

Nick:

looking? Literally it stops. It stops at the top of the fucking mountain to a castle. Yes. That then it doesn't end. You have to walk Got the 300 foot tunnel?

Unknown:

Well unless you want to hike it up unless you want to like that

Nick:

which we had been done hiking, you can walk up a 300 foot tunnel that goes like on this incline to an elevator with another 227 stories, literally and me what heights fuck you Oh

Nancy:

height and control issue that you have like Wait who's controlling this elevator and there's only what five people that can be on this only

Nick:

five people could give me elevator inside this mountain. It was crazy 27 stories, I get in there with much reservation, we get to the top crazy.

Unknown:

The brain got wind and the colors in those. It's just I don't

Nick:

know if you guys have been able in your lifetime to experience something to almost take your breath away because I don't want to be like, it took my breath away. It wasn't like that. I'm still breathing. What it did do. I felt so small, like like nothing that I tried to control or do actually. Yeah, because it was absolutely fucking incredibly insightful.

Nancy:

It was it was I mean, if anything, this trip really made us do things that we normally don't do. Whether it be the hike, the were you to absolutely no going up the elevator, I mean, all these different things that we did and the stars let's mention the stars.

Nick:

And I'll tell you one thing. Not only does Google lie, but like the history of the Adirondacks, blah blah blah. One thing I read is there's not many deer in the Adirondacks. But there's over 4000 Black Bear and fucking moose lie. We didn't see one fucking moose. We didn't see one bear but all I saw was fucking deer. I don't need to see deer. I see deer wherever I go. I went to the Adirondack Mountains to see bear or moose. And I saw a fucking deer. And the funny thing about these deers are not even normal deer stand on the side of the road to lick you know lob, like deer. Deer. They're like stray animals just on the side of the road that just they'll hop in your car if they want if you want them it was it was fun. Oh weird.
